Company history

In 1955, the Zhongxin Metallurgical Machinery Factory was established. With the approval of the City Administration of Industry and Commerce of Xianyang, the enterprise integrated 11 engineering factories (including Zhongxin, Yuxiang, Jianzhong and others) and 6 metal rolling companies (including Deshun, Liyuan and others), implementing joint management, and was under the direct supervision of the said administration.

After being incorporated into the Xi'an Electrotechnical Test Station, the enterprise was renamed Xi'an Motor Plant and operated as a state-owned enterprise under the management of the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Metallurgical and Electromechanical Industry. The enterprise completed the centralization of its management system, creating a three-level management structure consisting of the plant's head office, workshops and production teams. The scale of production, equipment and research capabilities were constantly upgraded, which made it possible to establish serial and diversified production of reliable products with significantly increased efficiency. During the era of planned economy, the company became one of the three largest engine manufacturers in North-Northwest China and was appointed by the First Ministry of Machinery as the official supplier of tank engines.

In 2004, with the guidance of government policies and the support of governments at the provincial and city levels, Xi'an Electric Motor Plant successfully completed its restructuring, transforming itself from a state-owned enterprise into a limited liability company (LLC) and officially changing its name to Xi'an Sima Electric Motor (Group) Co., Ltd. The registered capital was 40 million yuan, and the enterprise became the first successful pilot project for the restructuring of a state-owned enterprise in Xi'an.

In 2009, against the backdrop of constant growth and development, Xian Sima Electric Motor (Group) Co., Ltd. was officially restructured into the joint stock company "Xi'an Sima Electric Motor (Group) OOO", the registered capital increased from 40 million to 165 million yuan. In November of the same year, to further expand the development of the enterprise, Xi'an Sima Electric Motor (Group) Ltd. completed the transfer of shares with Harbin Taifu Electric Co., Ltd., and the company officially changed its name to Xi'an Taifu Sima Electric Motor Co., Ltd.

Today, Xi'an Sima Electric Motor has grown into a large high-tech enterprise with more than thousands of employees. It is a key specialized manufacturing enterprise of large- and mid-range, high- and low-voltage, AC and DC electric motors in the Chinese machinery industry, and a system solution provider in the field of power systems, integrating electric motor design and manufacturing, electrical control, mechanical engineering, mold development, casting and automated integrated engineering systems.
